I won't boo the man. If you have been a fan for 20+ years, maybe you remember what a freakin' circus the NHL used to be. Yeah, I wish there was more fighting. Yeah, I wish there were more goals. But the fact that there's a team in Phoenix and not in Windsor or Quebec is not relevant to me. Get over your entitlement mentality. There's no team in my town either. Bettman does a good job. You try dealing with a union and making a profit. |

Bettman's job isn't to care. He's a business man who answers only to the owners and a business man who is trying to grow his product in any means necessary. His job isn't to care about what people think about him, or what they think about the direction he is taking them. The owners are the ones who care what fans think because the fans directly pay them and they, in turn, directly pay Bettman. If the fans have issues with Bettman, they take it up with their owner. No different than most organizations. Bottom line, as long as the owners are happy, Bettman is happy and while all this stays the same, Bettman is untouchable. So the answer is that you will never know if Bettman will bleed simply because he can't be cut. |
